06 - 1/2 cup water

→ Optional

07 - 1 tablespoon agave syrup or honey for additional sweetness

# How-To:

01 - Combine strawberries, pineapple, white rum, lime juice, simple syrup, and water in a blender. Process until completely smooth. Taste and incorporate additional sweetener if desired.
02 - Distribute blended mixture evenly into 6 resealable freezer-safe pouches or sturdy zip-top bags, filling each approximately 2/3 cup. Seal tightly while pressing out excess air.
03 - Arrange filled pouches flat in freezer. Freeze for minimum 6 hours or until completely solid.
04 - Remove a pouch from freezer. Gently knead or run under warm water for several seconds to soften. Pour into glass or serve directly from pouch using a straw.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • Make them once and forget they exist until someone actually wants a cocktail, no last minute mixing required.
  • That perfect moment when the frozen pouch melts just enough on your tongue and releases all the tropical flavor at once.
02 -
  • Fresh lime juice is non negotiable because the citric acid balance is what makes this taste bright instead of boozy.
  • Don't skip cooling your simple syrup before mixing or the heat will damage all those delicate fruit flavors you worked to preserve.
03 -
  • Freeze them on a flat sheet pan first, then stack them once solid so they don't weld together into one giant brick.
  • The agave syrup trick is to add it during the blend, not after, so it distributes evenly throughout every pouch.
